The Challenge
Traditional reselling methods faced issues of exorbitant prices and limited availability due to rampant scalper bot activity. Additionally, manual handling of refunds through the customer care team posed operational challenges. The task was to create a solution that countered scalper bots, streamlined the refund process, and contributed positively to the platform's revenue.
The Solution
The solution involved developing and implementing an automated ticket relisting system, reducing reliance on manual refund processes. This not only addressed the challenges posed by scalper bots but also created a more efficient and dynamic resale platform for TodayTix. By automating refunds and strategically relisting tickets, the platform aimed to provide customers with fair pricing and increased ticket availability.
Results
The ticket relisting product is currently in production and has already demonstrated significant success, particularly in London. By combatting scalper bots and automating the refund process, TodayTix has achieved its goal of enhancing the resale experience for customers. The initiative has not only closed gaps in the platform but has also proven to be a lucrative avenue for revenue generation, showcasing the effectiveness of strategic product enhancements.
